Carbide Inserts & CNC Cutting Tools
Cutting Tools, Specified — Not Just Listed
InsertCore quotes carbide inserts, solid tooling and holders for turning, milling, drilling and threading work, with the published specification, grade behaviour and starting speed behind every line. Send the material and the machine — the reply reasons it out, within hours.
A trading and selection partner working from your drawing and your setup — no factory claims, no certificates we cannot point to, just the documented data behind the tool we propose.
CUTTING TOOL CATALOGUE
The families we quote most, and why they are worth a look
Every category page carries the full grade, geometry and ISO-code detail. Starting from the workpiece instead? Pick your material group below — the application pages cut the same catalogue that way.
Turning Inserts
ISO turning inserts for carbon steel, stainless and cast iron — grades and chipbreakers chosen against your operation, quoted with the published data behind each choice.
View CategoryEnd Mills
Solid carbide cutters for steel, aluminium and hardened work — square, ball nose and corner-radius geometries with the coating family your material needs.
View CategoryDrilling Tools
Indexable U-drills and solid carbide twist drills matched to machine rigidity and hole duty, with coolant-through options where the setup allows.
View CategoryThreading Tools
Carbide thread turning and milling tooling for metric, UNF and custom profiles, specified from the thread class and the material being cut.
View CategoryMilling Inserts
Face and shoulder milling inserts across general machining, aluminium and hardened dies, with grade coverage published row by row.
View CategoryCBN & PCD Inserts
Superhard turning and boring tooling for hardened steel and non-ferrous alloys, chosen by hardness band and silicon content.

Start with the number, not the sales call
Three reference tables that chain the way a setup sheet does — hardness picks the material group, the group picks the speed window, the thread picks the drill. Every row names its standard or vendor source.
Tap Drill Size Chart
Metric and imperial tap drill sizes with the thread engagement each row leaves — every figure traceable to ISO 261, ASME B1.1 and ASME B94.11M.
Open ToolHardness Conversion Chart
HRC, HBW and HV equivalents for carbon, alloy and tool steels, published per ASTM E140 and ISO 18265, with the limits where conversions stop being valid.
Open ToolCutting Speed Calculator
Recommended surface speeds by material group with the rpm arithmetic worked through — every range carrying the vendor document it came from.

Four questions that decide the trial run
How do I get a quote for non-standard or hard-to-find tooling?
Send the part material, operation and machine — plus a STEP/IGES drawing or even a photo of a worn edge. Standard catalogue codes across the seven families are cross-referenced and quoted by published specification; where nothing standard fits, custom configurations are quoted against your drawing or sample.
Can you match a grade I already run from another brand?
Yes. Inserts are quoted by full ISO code — geometry class, tolerance class, chipbreaker and grade — exactly as the published data sheet states them, so a comparable code from another brand is an apples-to-apples swap. The reply also states the reasoning: why this grade family and coating for your material.
Can I trial a small quantity before committing?
Single-box trials are encouraged — most catalogue items carry no minimum beyond one box, so a grade decision gets proven on your machine before a line is committed. Trial results feed back into the production recommendation.
How do lead times and shipping work?
Stocked standard items ship within days of payment confirmation; non-standard tooling is quoted with its own lead time. Air express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) for boxes, consolidated sea freight for larger programs, with commercial invoice and packing list on every shipment.
Technical snapshot
Where the numbers start — sample turning speeds from the published data
| ISO group | Workpiece | Starting Vc (m/min) | Grade family quoted |
|---|---|---|---|
| P | Low-carbon (<0.3%C) & free-machining steel | 210–395 | coated indexable carbide (HT-series grades) |
| M | Austenitic stainless steel 304/316 (~180 HB) | 120–215 | coated indexable carbide (HT-series grades) |
| K | Grey cast iron | 180–450 | coated indexable carbide (HT-series grades) |
| N | Low-silicon aluminum & magnesium alloys (Si<12.2%) | 60–440 | coated indexable carbide (KCU25S) |
| S | Nickel-based heat-resistant alloys (Inconel 718 class) | 40–70 | coated indexable carbide (HT-series grades) |
| H | Hardened steel 55–60 HRC | 10–80 | coated indexable carbide (KCHS25S) |
Every row is a vendor-data range lifted from our cutting speed table — where inside the window you run is decided by machine rigidity, coolant and depth of cut, and it goes into the quotation in writing.
WHY INSERTCORE
A trading and selection partner, and three things we can actually stand behind
Quoted in hours, written out in full
A quotation from InsertCore names what will actually be supplied — ISO code, grade, coating and edge condition — with a starting cutting speed where the operation needs one. Quotes come back within hours.
Selection, not just a catalogue line
Send the material, the operation and the machine, and the reply comes back with the reasoning: why this grade family, why this coating, what the published data says about how it behaves on your workpiece. Where the data stops being honest, the reply says that too — the same boundary rule the tool and application pages follow row by row.
Proof before a programme
Trial quantities and mixed orders are welcome, so a grade decision gets proven on your machine before a line is committed — a trial batch rides along with the consumables you already buy. Shipping worldwide from Guangzhou, with the documentation that your customs clearance works from.
Non-standard item or a restock line? The custom tooling and wholesale pages set out the five-step flow.
Not sure which insert, grade or geometry your part needs?
Send the material, the operation and the machine. The quotation comes back within hours naming the code, the grade behaviour and a starting speed — with trial quantities available before anything is committed.
